Membership is about finding your people — and becoming your best self alongside them. Here is everything you need to begin.
How it works
From first hello to Bid Day
Register for recruitment
Sign up through your campus Panhellenic and tell us you’re interested — we’ll connect you with the right chapter.
Gather recommendations
Ask an alumna who knows you to submit a recommendation on your behalf before recruitment begins.
Meet the sisters
Across several rounds of conversations, philanthropy events and sisterhood nights, find where you feel at home.
Bid Day & beyond
Accept your bid, meet your big sister and begin the new-member program that welcomes you fully.
For new members
Your first semester, surrounded
New members pair with a big sister mentor, join a new-member class that meets weekly, and learn our history, songs and ideals. Study hours, service projects and sisterhood retreats fill the calendar — most new members say they felt at home within weeks.
- Big-sister mentorship from day one
- Weekly new-member education & sisterhood events
- Academic support and study resources

For parents
A partner in her college years
Parents often ask about safety, grades and cost — rightly so. Our chapters maintain supervised housing standards, require academic standing for initiation, and publish all dues transparently before Bid Day. Members consistently earn above-average GPAs, and our alumnae networks open doors to internships and first jobs.
You’ll be invited to family weekends, initiation ceremonies open to relatives, and regular chapter newsletters. Questions? Write to us through the chapter contact form and a chapter advisor will reply.
Housing
Many chapters offer live-in houses with resident advisors, chef-prepared meals, quiet study floors and live-in requirements that vary by campus. Housing tours are available during recruitment — ask your recruitment counselor for details.
Recommendations
A recommendation is a short introduction submitted by an alumna member on behalf of a potential new member. If you know a Lumen Rose alumna — a teacher, neighbor or family friend — ask her early in the summer before recruitment. Don’t know one? Register anyway; chapters welcome all qualified women.
For graduating members
Senior year brings the senior farewell ceremony, alumnae-chapter matching, résumé workshops and the handoff of your little sister’s mentorship. Graduation isn’t goodbye — it’s initiation into a global alumnae sisterhood.
Questions, answered
Dues vary by chapter and cover housing, meals (where applicable), programming and national fees. Every chapter publishes a full cost sheet before Bid Day, and payment plans are available.
Recommendations help chapters get to know you, but they are not required everywhere. Register for recruitment regardless — our chapters review every registration with care.
Expect a weekly chapter meeting plus one or two events in most weeks. Leadership roles take more; sisters balance membership with athletics, jobs and demanding majors every day.
Absolutely. Many chapters recruit beyond freshman year through continuous open bidding. Contact the chapter directly to ask about current opportunities.
